Amuru Budget conference records overwhelming turn up

Amuru district budget conference this year received an overwhelmingly high turn up of participants, compared to the previous years organized at the district.
The budget conference that was held on 31st October 2023, received over 100 people and was organized by the district planning unit.
The conference included participants like the district and sub county technical team, councilors, partners, opinion leaders and community members among others.
The district LCV representative, also vice chairperson, Mr. Rom Denis said that this year’s turn up is encouraging and shows that community mobilization is effective and more members of the community are taking interest in development issues.
The participants also included pupils of Otwee Primary School who dramatized issues and plight of the pupils in a song presentation.
Among other issues, the pupils cited inadequate toilet facilities, high teacher to pupil ratio as issues affecting their education.
Other issues of human resources gaps, PDM implementation challenges and inadequate funding to key programs across departments were also discussed and recommendation’s made accordingly.
Amuru Chief administrative officer, Mr. Otai Charles appreciated the organizers and participants for their contribution toward the success of the conference emphasizing that all ideas discussed will be broken to generate manageable issues.
