Amuru football clubs receive balls, cautioned against reckless lifestyle

Football clubs in Amuru district have been cautioned against living a reckless lifestyle while doing sports.
The clubs were cautioned by the Amuru district LCV chairperson, Michael Lakony on Wednesday 2nd August, 2023, while he was officiating the handover of footballs and netball to the football clubs from the different sub counties and town councils in Amuru district.
According to the LCV chairperson, many youth in sports live reckless lives and end up destroying their career in sports, adding that there is more to sports than the life of partying and uncontrolled behavior.
He appealed to the sports officer to ensure that all games organized in Amuru district is regulated especially in regards to allocating accommodation for boys and girls, in order to safeguard the lives of the youth in sports.
Meanwhile, 27 clubs out of the fifty registered under Amuru district football club received 2 footballs and 1 netball from the ministry of sports to encourage youth sports at the lower level.
The Chairperson Amuru District Football Association, Charles Denis Omony appreciated the ministry and district for the supported extended towards the football and netball clubs and urged youth to join clubs in order to benefit from such support.
