Atiak Town council has received a magistrate that will operate a grade one magistrate’s court to serve the people of Kilak North.
The magistrate, His worship, Kyembe Karim is newly posted following a request by the district leadership and court stakeholders who argued that court is hard to reach for the people of Kilak north.
The district chairman, Mr. Lakony Michael said that posting of the magistrate to open a magistrate’s court in Atiak town council is timely and will do a lot in decongesting the court.
He was speaking during court open day that was at the Amuru court premises in Amuru town council on 22nd August, 2023.
Mr. Lakony said that the district leadership will identify and allocate land to host the judiciary in Atiak town council.
The chief justice, Hon. Justice Alfonse Chigamoy Owiny-Dollo who was chief guest at the open court day said a day like this is important because it helps the litigants to search for solutions to their problems and understand the court process better.
He appealed to the resident judge to organize such days at least every once in a while to allow the public interact with the judiciary freely.
Meanwhile, the Amuru grade one magistrate, Nyero Patrick has been transferred to Yumbe and will be replaced by his worship Abala Geoffrey who has been newly posted to the district.
