Amuru Coffee Farmers Rewarded by UCDA
At least 3 coffee farmers in Amuru District were rewarded on Monday by Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA).
The farmers including; Michael Ojok, Denish Omoya and Doreen Aceng were rewarded for their good performance in regards to coffee farming in Amuru district.
The trio were recognized by UCDA in a function graced by the regional coordinator Operation Wealth Creating, Brig. Col. Francis Acoka and Deputy Resident District Commissioner, Amuru.
While handing over gifts to the farmers, Brig. Acoka encouraged coffee farmers to expand their wealth in coffee farming and also commended UCDA and Amuru district agricultural entention workers for their commendable job in offering skills, knowledge and guidance to the coffee farmers.
Brig. Acoka said that he would like to see a coffee shop in Guruguru Sub County in the near future, adding that this is only possible if the district porpularises coffee farming.
He encouraged the farmers to continue with coffee framing promising that he will lobby for a coffee industry to provide near market for the farmers.
